Thai Reinsurance Public Company Limited is 47.14% owned by Fairfax. Based in Bangkok, Thailand, it is a reinsurer providing reinsurance coverage for non-life insurance, focusing on personal lines insurance, group health and customized product development.  It also provides coverage for motor, property, engineering and marine.  Thai Re offers risk management consulting, technical assistance, marketing support, education and information services.

In 2021, Thai Re’s net premiums written were THB 4,033 million (THB 32.0 = 1US$).  At year-end, the company had shareholders’ equity of THB 3,245 million and there were over 400 employees.

Thai Re is led by Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Oran Vongsuraphichet, who was appointed on January 1, 2016.
