Polish Re (Polskie Towarzystwo Reasekuracji S.A.) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fairfax since 2009. Based in Warsaw, Poland, it writes reinsurance business in the Central and Eastern European region, specializing predominantly in property and agriculture. In 2021, Polish Re's net premiums earned were USD 137.7 million. At year-end, the company had shareholders’ equity of USD 74.3 million and there were 49 employees.

Polish Re is providing its clients with outstanding customer service, including not only reinsurance capacity, but also know-how by sharing experience and expertise. Established in September 1996, Polish Re has been successfully operating in 40 markets.
